Mia's winning yarn print email

09_Mia2Grade 3 student at St Joseph’s Benalla, Mia Lawley, has been presented with a Young Australian Best Book Award (YABBA) award for story writing.  Mia entered her story, One Sad Little Boy, and was presented with her prize at Trinity Grammar School in Melbourne.  At the prize ceremony, she met several famous Australian authors and illustrators, including Morris Gleitzman, Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton, and was able to collect autographs after having morning tea. At the school’s assembly, Mia presented part of her prize, a huge box of books, to the school librarian, Rachel Heywood. Mia also won a box of books for herself.
